What happens when the world’s most advanced genetic research comes to life?

In this excerpt from Project Earth: Ascension I, we take you high above the ground—where 18 years of secrets are about to unravel.

They just met and they come from different cultures, different countries, scattered across the globe.

But they all share one thing:

They are not like us.

They are the chosen twelve—genetically modified before birth, placed in different parts of the world, and destined to meet on the day they turn eighteen.

But the reunion didn’t go as planned.

Instead of a celebration…it became a trap.

Awakening at 10,000 feet

The illusion of being ordinary disappears the moment the sedation begins to wear off.

Amanda and Lise struggle to open their eyes. Their bodies feel paralyzed, their thoughts blurred. Nausea, dryness, confusion.

And then they notice something strange:

They’re all wearing identical pajamas. White, with pink flowers.

A bizarre contrast to the reality they are trapped in.

Something begins to awaken

While the others fight to understand what’s happening, one of them is already fully aware.

Yoko.

She isn’t just awake—she’s immune.

As the kidnappers move down the aisle with more injections, they have no idea what they’re dealing with.

They believe they are in control.

They’re wrong.

When the hunter changes sides

Yoko knows her body. She understands what’s been done to them—and what she is capable of.

There is no panic in her. Only focus.

With silent, precise movements, she shifts the balance.

One by one, the men fall.

Suddenly, the situation has changed.

“Where are we going?” she whispers, holding the leader in place.

Now he’s the one answering.

They thought they had created the perfect subjects.

Instead, they created their greatest threat.
